The Basics on crackdemics
This humorous lady in our tut group suggested our blog name, Literary Crackhouse. I guess we are really distributing crack, though not the usual kind. Now, I had been assigned the role of dealing with opinions on university issues. Then one of the ladies decided to swap with me and I now deal with academics. Thus the name crackdemic.
Every Christian will tell you that the road to salvation is steep and thorny. Only the very diligent will complete it. What makes it harder is the fact that sin is quite enjoyable. The main reason we are at university is to learn. But unfortunately, concentrating on the academic side of things is not exactly a walk in the park. Right now, I’m supposed to have read a History novel by Friday. And I haven’t even flipped one page. The amazing thing is I did nothing productive up to today. That is a very common problem affecting most students. Between drinking and procrastination, little or no time for study is allocated. It’s excruciating to pore over a book. But partying at equilibrium is quite easy. The only pain one gets is that of limbs overstretched from gyrating on the dance floor.
Like Christianity, the dealing with the academic side of things at university is a steep and thorny road for most of us. The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. Unfortunately, we have no choice but to face our books. Especially as the exams are around the corner. I guess we have to pray for divine intervention so we can be given the strength to successfully negotiate this road.
