Cabin Fever

I am sure that many of you have had that old feeling. It's like that one pair of old, courdory pants you have left in your cupboard because everything else is dirty and you'e run out of Omo. They're orange, itchy and tight and your Aunt Elma bought them for you. It seems like they are trying to squeeze your thighs into pastry. That feeling is recreated by Cabin Fever. Your res gets crowded, your res room feels like a shoebox and the bars on your window might as well be those found on Robben Island. The week has been tedious and that night out partying didn't help. Cabin Fever affects us all. It can attack suddenly and with a vengeance. The other night I was doing an essay and felt like I wanted to jump on the next bus to Krugersdorp or Pofadder. Cabin Fever can overheat one's noggin. I wanted to be anywhere but sitting in a stuffy room in front of a laptop for the next two hours. Fear not, I have a solution. Get up and walk away. If you feel like you want to get out and can't concentrate then go for a walk or visit a friend or have a nap. The sickly Cabin Fever will melt away and you can get on with your assignment feeling better and more relaxed. If that does not help, look at your calendar and plan your Saturday. Plan something for you to do that will make you feel relaxed and happy. That should keep you going while you burn the midnight oil.
