I always wonder what the world would be without women. They are a species that never fail to be interesting. When something is interesting, it makes life worth interesting.
Being the picky fella that I am, few ladies interested me this year. I mean, most girls idea of a guy rarely includes a teetotaller who is celibate. I admit that it sounds downright boring. But I like it that way. But I’m not giving up. After all, next year first years will hit town. Fresh, young faces that are new to Rhodes. And being the charmer that I am, I’ll smooth talk a few and hopefully, I’ll hit the jackpot. A few romantic lines should do the trick. I mean, I’ll be a respectable second year by that time. If I excel in my exams of course. Being the veteran that I’ll be, I’ll be playing the field. On second thoughts that’s not a good idea. It’s easier to focus on one girl. But those who claim to know better told me it’s bettr to have a number of girls to shield oneself from disappointment. But then, the Rhodes campus is too small. I’d easily get into trouble.
I have an even better idea. I’m going to apply to be around during O-week. That way, I’ll have the pick of the best. That way, by the time everyone arrives, I’ll be the main man. Here’s to a great time next year. In a teetotalling, abstinence kind of way.
